About the Host
Clarence M. Mitchell IV, known to WBAL listeners as “C4,” brings a lifetime of political experience s and relationships to WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5. C4 is part of a four-generation family legacy of politics and public service in Maryland.
C4 was elected to the Maryland state Senate in 1998, representing the same legislative district that his father, Sen. Clarence M. Mitchell III, had represented for 20 years. Because of his family’s political tradition, his politics are often difficult to define. C4 positions himself as an independent and when you listen to his program, it is clear that he is person of conviction who does not see things from just one perspective. Whether you agree or disagree with his opinions, C4 will make you think and always invite you to be part of the conversation.
When breaking news happens, the newsmakers are always on the C4 Show. Interviews with local leaders are part of the daily discussion about issues that matter to you. As a host for 10 years, the C4 Show is where you get the inside story on both the local issues of the day and the big national stories everyone is talking about.
C4 is Mr. Baltimore! He attended Baltimore City public schools, eventually graduating from Baltimore Polytechnic institute at age 17. Though he was accepted to Harvard, C4 instead chose to stay close to his family by attending the University of Maryland, College Park. He would later attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Morgan State University.
Listen to C4 Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on WBAL NewsRadio 1090, FM 101.5 and the WBAL mobile app. Yuripzy Morgan joins C4 in the studio weekdays from 12:15 to 1 p.m. You can join the conversation by calling in or texting 410-467-9225.
